1) Unify metrics between stroke and outline fonts
2) Unify handling of rotation and mirroring
3) Bug fixes in collision handling
4) Use of VECTOR2I (instead of VECTOR2D) for world-coordinates
5) Generate outline font overbar with rounded ends and fix rotation
bugs
6) Generate wxEVT_CHOICE events from FONT_CHOICE::SetFontSelection
7) Change text-item PNS SOLIDs to use compound shapes
Text has a fairly big bounding box to account for descenders, overbars,
etc., but it makes it feel too sloppy for hittesting. This change
allows selection disambiguation to look at the actual strokes of the
text when deciding what's "closest".
Fixes https://gitlab.com/kicad/code/kicad/issues/9506
Texts were drawn with a minimal line thickness = GetDefaultPenWidth().
The default pen width can be to large for small texts.
So the actual text thickness is now always clamped.
For legacy reasons, it stored left and right "spin" as flipped integers in the file format.
But the code handled the flip in multiple locations rather than just doing it on file io.
This change unifies the internal code and does the mapping in the file I/O.
Change default text size and anchor positions back to mils. Internal
units need to be converted at the source, otherwise the size will get
converted twice in the schematic editor configuration code which will
result in the default text size being off by the conversion factor.
Fixes#3730https://gitlab.com/kicad/code/kicad/issues/3730#
Note that since the markup might exist for other reasons, it has
to be turned on with a preference setting. (It goes through a set
of bitflags so the same architecture can be used for other markup
structures that we might want to support in the future.)
Note also that this is more about engineering nomenclature than
visual formatting. In that respect it's more similar to overbar
than italic or bold.
5.0 doesn't set the GAL's line width. It gets away with this since
it's using the same GAL to measure as to set up the drawing, so
the width happens to be set correctly for other reasons. 5.1 uses
a separate GAL and so isn't so lucky.
eeschema now supports arbitrary colors for all object types, and
pcbnew does in GAL canvas. When switching from GAL to legacy canvas,
pcbnew will convert colors to the nearest legacy color.
Make all EDA_TEXT data private and rename accessors to avoid function
name collisions in derived classes.
Overload EDA_TEXT's SetTextAngle() and SetEffects() in TEXTE_PCB.
Add support for preserving Reference text position, size, orientation
during a netlist import into a BOARD, as well as the one off footprint
update dialog.
It should help if (or when) the internal angle unit used in kicad will be changed from 0.1 degree (a relic of code written for PCs without fpu) to degree ( a more natural unit).
- Removed the friends MODULE and FOOTPRINT_EDIT_FRAME from TEXTE_MODULE
(as in the @todo comment)
- Refactored the Rotate/Flip/Mirror for text in modules into the
TEXTE_MODULE class itself (members RotateWithModule, FlipWithModule,
MirrorWithModule)
- New behaviour in coloring text on screen: reference and value still
take the color from the MOD_TEXT_FR_VISIBLE and MOD_TEXT_BK_VISIBLE
visibles; other text takes the color of the layer containing it
(except when hidden, obviously) but still get its visibility
controlled by those visibles (probably the most intuitive and useful
behaviour)
- Still need to decide: should text on a layer be hidden when the layer
is? Probably yes (still to be implemented);
- Some comment fixed and many cast converted to static_cast
Eagle plugin: filter and replace not allowed chars in FPID(-':' and '/') by _ or -, if they are used in Eagle footprint names (otherwise, boards converted and saved under kicad_pcb format are not readable by Pcbnew).
Fix issues created by this patch.
Note, this fix slightly changes the vertical position of these texts.
This is not really a problem in eeschema, but in pcbnew this is perhaps more annoying, if the verical multiline text is critical.
Fix a very minor issue for vertical justification of single line texts in dxf import.
File "rules" has instructional text as comments near top.
2) Convert all text files in repo to LF line ending form.
Any checkout done with "rules" in play will convert the working
tree to native line ending, while keeping repo as LF line ending.
