Jeff Young c48f4272f3 Collapse a level out of the zoom settings. 
The APP_SETTINGS_BASE now holds the list of zoom factors, and
the old legacy (screen-based) code has been removed.

Seth Hillbrand 1e5ba6f1b1 Replace DIM() macro 
The standard DIM() macro was not typesafe as it happily deferred errors
to runtime that can be caught at compile time.  Replacing it with a
generic C++11 constexpr allows for typecasting, comparison and compile
time error checking.

Jeff Young cd5f727880 Fix off-by-1 errors in zoom menus & use zoom steps in GAL canvas. 
Also bumps the maximums a bit (at user request).
