Jeff Young 6fde9ea8a5 Don't leave stale pointers in groups when exchanging modules.
Also simplifies groups so that other areas of code that have to know
about them at least don't have to know as much. One of the simplifications
is to not worry so much about empty groups until save time; others are in
the access logic to parent groups.

Also simplifies user model slightly by removing Merge and Flatten
(which are just ungroup/group and ungroup/ungroup/.../group).

Also allows multiple groups to have the same name.  This is useful when
using groups for a classification system.

Jeff Young dba42ebed0 ADDED Properties Dialog for groups.
ADDED memberOf() function for DRC rule expressions.

Also fixes a bug in several of the pickers where the event wasn't
being correctly passed.

Jeff Young 64fa400b19 Ease translation a bit.
Also improves the SNR and consistency of the menu item text.  For
instance, a position is rarely useful, while relative sizes can be.

Also removes some unnecessary repitition, such as "Graphic Rectangle"
when "Rectangle" communicates the necessary information.

Jeff Young 393bb0fd83 Fix assert where geometry routine wasn't ready to handle layers.
This introduces layer handling to a lot of the geometry routines.
Many of them don't do much with it now, but it does help multi-layer
zones and will help when padstacks are implemented.

Seth Hillbrand 0a5f11fb37 Keep item ordering as much as possible
The ordering goes first by type and then by uuid.  In the case of
DRAWSEGMENT and EDGE_MODULE, we also sort by shape type before UUID.

Jeff Young f2812773d4 Better handling of undefined values in Rule expressions.
This is particularly important to keep the user from having to
enter overly verbose statements such as:
A.Type == 'via' && A.Via_Type == 'buried'
when:
A.Via_Type == 'buried'
is perfectly clear.

- convert expression string tokens to single-quote-delimited
- fix bug where netclass assignments weren't getting updated after
  board setup dialog
- move property manager rebuild to lazy evaluation
- improve performance with wider use of const&
- retire DRC_SELECTOR stuff
- use wxString for GUI stuff (particularly translated stuff)
- fix EqualTo() to return false instead of asserting when op types
  don't match
- fix buffer overruns with fixed-size string buffers
- make expression function calls case-insensitive
- integrate expression errors into rule parser
- produce more and better error messages
- keep BOARD_ITEM ptrs const as long as possible
- fix a couple of uninitialized variables

jean-pierre charras 8bd9b26717 ZONE_CONTAINER, display info: fix incorrect layer of zones on user layers.
Add also display on hatch count and filled polygons corner count, previously removed,
but useful for large and complex zones (that can take a lot of computation time
for DRC and display).

Seth Hillbrand 9b7d4e2742 Recleaning DLIST from pcbnew
This was re-introduced by 5d3e6e3d44

The crash happened b/c we have to manage list containers in each element
and minor adjustments cause the rest of the list to be lost.  This
commit re-implements it using std::iterators and deque

Seth Hillbrand 32052d953f pcbnew: Fix STL blunder when deleting
Deleting objects from a container will invalidate the iterator that
contains the object.  Correct deleting requires capturing the iterator
returned by the erase function.

Seth Hillbrand ddc6079ceb Move remaining hard-coded segment counts
This removes the remaining hard-coded segments counts and replaces them
with the relative error calculation where the segments per arc is
determined by the maximum error we allow (smaller arcs = fewer segments)

John Beard dc20521cb9 Break out getTrailingInt from MODULE
This is not logic specific to MODULE. Breaking it out to
kicad_string.h acheives:

* Slimming of the MODULE interface
* Enables reuse of the function
* Enables testing of the function

Also add a test under qa_common for this function.

jean-pierre charras 270a63daac DRAWSEGMENT, S_POLYGON shape: remove useless copies or conversion to std::vector<wxPoint> of SHPE_POLY_SET polygon shape.
Rename GetPolyPoint() to BuildPolyPointsList(), because GetPolyPoint() looks like an accessor, but it is not an accessor.
(Using it as accessor can creates a *very long calculation time* for very basic access to polygon vertices)

John Beard 8c6313ac1a Extend arrays and duplicate to pcbnew (GAL and legacy), covering modules, text, lines, tracks, dimensions and targets.
Text arrays can now use "%s" as a placeholder to be substituted with the array index.

Also expand menu options for move exact, arrays and duplicate.

Minor fixes for arrays - use proper unit parsing, add numbering start for circular arrays

Add circle radius indicator to array dialogue

Maciej Suminski e262b32198 Introduction of Graphics Abstraction Layer based rendering for pcbnew.
New classes:
    - VIEW - represents view that is seen by user, takes care of layer ordering & visibility and how it is displayed (which location, how much zoomed, etc.)
    - VIEW_ITEM - Base class for every item that can be displayed on VIEW (the biggest change is that now it may be necessary to override ViewBBox & ViewGetLayers method for derived classes).
    - EDA_DRAW_PANEL_GAL - Inherits after EDA_DRAW_PANEL, displays VIEW output, right now it is not editable (in opposite to usual EDA_DRAW_PANEL).
    - GAL/OPENGL_GAL/CAIRO_GAL - Base Graphics Abstraction Layer class + two different flavours (Cairo is not fully supported yet), that offers methods to draw primitives using different libraries.
    - WX_VIEW_CONTROLS - Controller for VIEW, handles user events, allows zooming, panning, etc.
    - PAINTER/PCB_PAINTER - Classes that uses GAL interface to draw items (as you may have already guessed - PCB_PAINTER is a class for drawing PCB specific object, PAINTER is an abstract class). Its methods are invoked by VIEW, when an item has to be drawn. To display a new type of item - you need to implement draw(ITEM_TYPE*) method that draws it using GAL methods.
    - STROKE_FONT - Implements stroke font drawing using GAL methods.
                          
Most important changes to Kicad original code:
    * EDA_ITEM now inherits from VIEW_ITEM, which is a base class for all drawable objects.
    * EDA_DRAW_FRAME contains both usual EDA_DRAW_PANEL and new EDA_DRAW_PANEL_GAL, that can be switched anytime.
    * There are some new layers for displaying multilayer pads, vias & pads holes (these are not shown yet on the right sidebar in pcbnew)
    * Display order of layers is different than in previous versions (if you are curious - you may check m_galLayerOrder@pcbnew/basepcbframe.cpp). Preserving usual order would result in not very natural display, such as showing silkscreen texts on the bottom.
    * Introduced new hotkey (Alt+F12) and new menu option (View->Switch canvas) for switching canvas during runtime.
    * Some of classes (mostly derived from BOARD_ITEM) now includes ViewBBox & ViewGetLayers methods.
    * Removed tools/class_painter.h, as now it is extended and included in source code.
                         
Build changes:
    * GAL-based rendering option is turned on by a new compilation CMake option KICAD_GAL.
    * When compiling with CMake option KICAD_GAL=ON, GLEW and Cairo libraries are required.
    * GAL-related code is compiled into a static library (common/libgal).
    * Build with KICAD_GAL=OFF should not need any new libraries and should come out as a standard version of Kicad
                            
Currently most of items in pcbnew can be displayed using OpenGL (to be done are DIMENSIONS and MARKERS).

Dick Hollenbeck 25b65b2e3b Consistent with my email posting from a day or two ago, remove the translated
standard layer name support from BOARD::GetLayerName().  This function evolved
in a contorted direction over time, and was being asked to return one of 3
different kinds of layer names, even though it only took a boolean to control
that choice.  

Users are better served by forcing them to get to know the concise new 
English Standard layer names.  This is because these concise names show up
in the "pretty" footprint/module files as the standard representation of
both feature and copper layers.

Change the name of BOARD::GetDefaultLayerName() to GetStandardLayerName().
Drop boolean argument to both BOARD::GetStandardLayerName() and 
BOARD::GetLayerName().

Dick Hollenbeck 2aa27122b0 Eliminate many assumptions in Pcbnew's library manager, pertaining to locality of libraries and
their type, by using the more abstract PLUGIN::Footprint*() functions.

This is an intermediate phase only, other changes will be necessary as library table support comes in.
Encapsulate usage of library path searching, since that will go away as library table support comes in.
Add FOOTPRINT_EDIT_FRAME::{get,set}LibPath() and FOOTPRINT_EDIT_FRAME::{get,set}LibNickName() functions
to provide this encapsulation.

* Add footprint methods to PCB_IO.
* Add FP_CACHE and FP_CACHE_ITEM for handling new footprint library design.
* Add code to save legacy libraries in new format.
* Change behavior of BOARD_ITEM::GetLayerName() to return the default layer
  name when the item does not have a BOARD as a parent.
* Minor changes to the module output formatter when writing to module library
  files (no BOARD as parent).
* Add new (and some that I forgot along the way) CMake flags to
  EDA_BASE_FRAME::CopyVersionInfoToClipboard().
* Add -Wno-narrowing to GCC flags to stop GCC 4.7 from complaining about
  a conversion from int to unsigned in the Boost polygon library.
* Add INPUT_STREAM_READER to richio.cpp to allow using any object derived
  from wxInputStream as a LINE_READER (needs to be validated).
