Prior to fixing the schematic file change churn do to instance data changing to the last selected sheet instance, the symbol instance data was set rather than empty. This change allows for users to set the default instance data which is used for every new instance of the schematic. ADDED: Default schematic symbol instance data (unit and reference, value, and footprint fields) can be set to be used as the default settings for all new instances of the schematic. Wayne Stambaugh	b87fc45e33	Fix broken symbol field table editor dialog. Do not use the symbol field string to populate the value and footprint grid cells. The field strings may be empty because the symbol has not been instantiated yet by entering a sheet. This fix makes an incorrect assumption that the first instance value and footprint data in the symbol is the same for all instances. Note: this fix is incomplete because the value and footprint fields are can now be different between sheet instances. The entire field table editor design will need to be rethought because the current grouping doesn't allow different value and footprint instance changes. Both of these routines were stripping the extension, leading to projects like "test.project.kicad_pro" having the project name stripped. Remove duplicate instance data saved in both root SCH_SCREEN and SCH_SHEET objects that was causing them to be out of sync. Remove Get/SetPageNumber from SCH_SHEET_PATH object so it doesn't obfuscate where the actual sheet page number information exists. This can be a particular problem if you go to run ERC, it shows the annotation warnging so you re-annotate (but don't notice that your scope is set to Selection). Also adds some missing defensive code around closing a modeless RC checker before the document (which we had for DRC dialog but not the ERC dialog). Jeff Young	27804e40e2	Go back to using space-width for tabs (instead of max-char-width). The max-char-width impl was buggy and never applied to PCBNew anyway. Plus the stroke font has a max-char-width of 2.8 time the space width, so it made for really wide tab spacing. Also fixes a bug where the Scintilla editors weren't getting a monospace font on Mac. (This bug may also exist on the other platforms, but each would need its own fix.) Also moves more of the Scintalla customizations to SCINTILLA_TRICKS where they can be shared. Jon Evans	18037e2f65	Rework bitmap system to load from archived PNGs Bitmaps are now identified by an enum class instead of by pointers. Bitmap loading and caching is now handled by a class in common, and we no longer compile most bitmaps into the binary, so there is no longer a bitmaps static library. Instead, bitmaps are archived to a .tar.gz file which is installed in ${KICAD_DATA}/resources/images.tar.gz The source PNGs are checked in to Git as the original CPP files were, so that people can build without the required dependencies to convert SVGs to PNGs. Initial support is also added for dark theme icons, although this is not yet exposed in the GUI. Stubs are present for multi-resolution image resources, but this is not fully-baked yet and could use some refinement.	2021-03-11 08:37:35 -05:00

Wayne Stambaugh	7a00e01b3e	Eeschema: fix false positive library symbol changed ERC errors. This fix required sorting all of the LIB_PART draw items to ensure accurate comparison between the symbols stored in the schematic and the original library symbols. This has a noticeable impact on symbol library load performance. It may also cause significant changes the next time the library is saved due to changes in the draw item sorting. Hashing may be a better solution here but this addressed the immediate problem. A skeleton method SCH_SCREEN::SwapSymbolLinks() was added because there is most likely an issue with orphaned symbols in the schematic library symbol cache during undo/redo operations. Note that performance will be suboptimal as it must read/write each library once for each symbol in the library. Requires us to move from arrow-keys to our own commands (the only way that the OSX wxWidgets impl doesn't eat the keys when the dataVIew has focus). Jeff Young	fc2bdc49de	Once more into the depths of hell... er, I mean fix a focus issue. So the new steals-focus protection stuff works well when there's a focused control, but not as well when there's a modal dialog up which happens not to have a focused control (or worse, a focusable control). This adds a second mechanism for also checking to see if a modal dialog is up (something that wxWidgets, true to form, makes very difficult).
